Privacy and Cookies Notice

Terumo Europe NV is committed to protecting your Privacy and Personal Data and to respecting your rights. This Privacy Notice ("Notice") explains the types of Personal Data we may collect and how we use, share, store and secure your Personal Data, in accordance with the applicable laws.

We have designed this Notice specifically for you, the users of this Learning Pages in the EMEA region.

For the purpose of this Notice, Personal Data or Data means the information that identifies you or allows you to be identified either on its own or in combination with other information, such as your full name, business email address, country where you are located, interested topics and your role, or other contact details that you may provide to us

  1. How do we collect your Data?
    We can collect your Data in three different ways:
  • We may collect your Data when you provide them directly to us.
  • We collect data when you visit the Learning Pages through the use of commonly used tracking technologies such as cookies. See further cookies notice under 8 below.
  • We may collect your educational activity on the platform, such as courses or recording you have completed.
  1. Which Data do we collect, for which purpose and on which legal basis?

Categories of information we collect about you include:

·        Information you provide to us, for example with your registration, such as full name, business email address, job title and place of work and country;

·        Your registration credentials (user name and password)

·        Any data you provide voluntarily to us

·        Your behavioral data on the Learning Pages

We use this information:

·        To provide you the requested services based on contractual necessity

·        To respond to your queries based on our legitimate interest

·        To allow you register on the Learning Pages based on contractual necessity

·        To understand the interest on our learning program, your use of the Learning Pages and to improve our services based on legitimate interest

·        To keep you informed about learning content and general product information of your interest based on your consent

  1. How do we share your data?

3.1.   Within Terumo we restrict access to your data to employees and any person acting under our authority on a need-to-know basis, who respect our confidentiality rules and comply with our instructions, in order to provide you with our services and/or respond to your queries.

3.2 We may also share your Data to selected third parties outside the Terumo group who provide services to us or on our behalf, such as IT services, hosting services, event management services and other professional services.  When we share your Personal Data with third parties who process Data on our behalf as processors, we will ensure those parties provide sufficient guarantees on the lawfulness, transparency and security of your Personal Data in line with applicable data protection law.

When your personal data is shared by us with or transferred by or to a third party outside the EEA, we will enter into the appropriate data transfer agreements or otherwise make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.

  1. How long do we keep your Data?

We will only use your Personal Data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes listed above or until you subscribe from our services.

In this respect, we have established a data classification and retention policy in the framework of our internal Data Retention Policy.

5.1   We have implemented reasonable, risk-based technical and organisational measures to ensure that your Data is protected from loss or disclosure, unauthorised use, modification or destruction.

5.2   Under the privacy laws you have certain rights in relation to the Personal Data we hold about you, such as the rights of information about and access to your Personal Data, rights to rectify or complete your Personal Data, rights to object to or restrict or cease certain processing, rights to delete your personal data and the rights to be forgotten.

5.3   You can request the exercise of your rights by contacting us using the contact details below.

5.4 In order to guarantee the security of your Data and to avoid any misuse, before responding to your request, we will ask you to provide us with an acceptable proof of your identity and will verify the legitimacy of your request and whether all the conditions have been satisfied

We have implemented administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help prevent unauthorized access. Despite these measures, no data transmission over the Internet can be entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit via our websites. Please note that you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials used to access any content and you must report suspected unauthorized activity to us.

7.1.   What are cookies and why are they useful?

We are not responsible for the use of your personal information by third party Websites accessible via the Website. You can share information on this Website through the social network icons provided for this purpose. This is a completely voluntary action, being Terumo exempt from any liability regarding the processing of data that may be made by the responsible of such social networks. To learn about the data processing that social networks perform, you should refer to their respective privacy policies.
